Twas the night before the night before Chistmas...

Soooo, I havent been in a very blogging mood of late, but I thought I'd do just a little christmasey ditty for you :) (proabably mainly containing weheartit picutres ;))


I don't think i'm the biggest ever fan of christmas, it seems such a random handful of traditions to me, I think we would have a hard time explaining it to aliens somehow ;) Theyre's a great bit in an episode of Doctor Who, I think probably set in the future where someone's explaining it 'Then the people of England go to war with the country of Turkey, they then eat the Turkey people for chrsitmas dinner...' That said, I still enjoy this time, especially the weather ...

Le making of bath de le bomb bombs

^ No idea what that French means...

Anyway, made these the other day :) They're meant to be cupcakes... Lovely mumma invested in some silicon cupcake moulds which make it a lot easier! I was quite amazed that all the ingredients are edible, so they are fairly easy to find :)



Think I need to find a way of attaching a cherry!





The base is chocolate flavoured by adding cocoa powder, and the top is vanilla, by adding vanilla essence

^ These are all the ingredients! And the instructions can be found here :) I changed a few things since I didn't want to buy frangrence oils/colour for just making them once (So used food colouring & the vamilla essence etc, but generally proper soap making stuff is going to work better!) The other thing is, don't leave it lying around before you put the mixture in the moulds... as I found out....it sets super quickly ;)

Halloween nails!

I got out my grotty nail art kit yesterday and did some cobweb experiments on my nailss :) They're not the neatest thing in the world but y'know, they're halloweeny :)

Models own Nail varnish, Blooboo & Purple Passion..

New nail varnish :) These are from Models own (I can't tell you how annoying it is that the writing on the clear bottle isn't facing the same wayy, grr :P) The colours are Blooboo & Purple Passion. They have an offer currently where its £3 off if you buy three so I thought I would get three to try :)

I havent tried the purple yet but here is the Blooboo, with two coats. I did them yesterday and it has started chipping off very very slightly on 2 nails, so thats pretty good for me as normally more of its come off by now!

Three days later - Kinda disappointed with it really, its all chipped so took it off, I think I need new base coat!

Canvasy

Meant to post this agesss ago! Its a canvas I painted with the words from a picture I also saw ages ago alsooo :)

Its one of those things that when you read, the little things just fade away, and you don't worry about them for a while :) Soo, as an over-worry-about-little-things-er, its going to find a place on my wall & remind me of more important things.. (hopefully).

     Its been so windy, the leaves were all dry & made the most amazing noise crinkling in the wind, they should record it for relaxy tracks like the with the sea :)

I love the light this time of yearr :) When its just getting into the evening and shines through the trees looking all vintagey.

I can't believe how long its taken me to appreciate the prettyness of places like this..

Innocent hats!

Okay so I think I've given up on the weekly idea already ;)

I knitted my first hat for The big knit yesterday, it's such an amzing idea! Innocent started this in 2003 (I can't believe I didn't hear of it before :P), they ask people to knit hats for thier smoothie bottles, and each smoothie sold with a hat on raises 25p for Age UK. You can read all about it here .



& they are also kinda comfy to wear on your ear ;)

This was my first attempt, its not
supposed to go on this kind of smoothie
which is why it doesn't fit!

They will be sold in Sainsburys and Boots in November time :)

Ramblings of this week :) Blondiess, Bunting & Pancake rubberss

Have decided to start a new way of posting & collect some thoughts from each week and post them here :) So here is this weeks!


Cake making a go gooo



Blondiesssss ;)

  I 'helped' make these! (By that I mean mum measured out all the ingredients & I mixed it up ;)). They are brownies but made with white chocolate, hense.. blondies :) We have been trying out some recipies as I have wanted to sell some on market stalls for a while and have booked the first one for next Saturday now, which I'm looking forward to, weather I will be well enough to go is another thing but y'know. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

• 100g of Butter
• 150g of Whilte cooking chocolate
• 100g of Self raising flour
• 200g of Sugar
• 3 Eggs
• We also used hazelnuts (just put in as much as looked right), but you can leave them plain or use walnuts etcc

Beat the eggs together then mix in the sugar and flour.
Gently melt together the butter and chocolate, let cool slightly and add to the egg mixture.
Pour into a 6x8" oiled and lined baking dish.
Bake in a preheated oven (at 180 degrees/Gas mark 4) for 30 to 35 mins.
Let cool in the tin for 10 minutes or so, then cut into peices :)

This was an idea I got from my friend who is a bunting genious & had some up in her garden, and I loved how something so simple can make such a difference to the space you're in! So I made some :) There are 3 rows of it up now, all different colours. Its quite simple to make as its triangles of felt (I cut them out with pinking sheers), threaded onto some emboidery thread. The tricky bit is working out how long you need it and hanging it up so its looks right, hehe. 



Its blurry, but I like the way it looks like its waving :)

Canvas card :)

My canvas 'card', which was born out of my hatrid of making cards! Its all the fiddly bits you use to make them.. I get in a right faff. Anyway this was my variation :) Its about a 6x6in canvas painted for my mum's birthday (mumma is a slight inside joke we have :P).

The butterflies are newspaper & coloured paper sewn together down the middle with a bit of glitter glue, you can also attach some thread and hang them up somewhere :)

Accessorize nail varnish review-type-thing :)

Have tried out this new nail varnish today :) From accessorize at £4, but they sell it at Superdrug alsoo.

This colour is called 'Soft Jade', they do lots of pretty & different-er colours than other brands so I'm quite pleased with it :)

It dries super quick, I tried to do it outside but since its really warm it dried so fast it went all bobbly :P. 

I might try out one from this website next, they do scent free nail varnishes - woo! :)

Candle making exravaganzaa :)

...and plant pots :) (Mum's genius idea!)

What I like about it is you can be quite creative with what you put the wax into, it doesn't have to be normal moulds :) You can use old candles and melt them down to make something more interesting! Plus if it goes wrong you can just melt the wax and try again :) Woohooo :)

I have no idea how this photo turned out how it did - I havent edited it, but I like it :)

I love these so much :) There is something really special about them, I want to go all over the world searching for tree tunnels :P This is one along the moors near where I live, its so much fun when they are deserted so you can stand in the middle of the road taking pictures :)
